The Chicago Urban League is hosting its IMPACT Leadership Development Program Class of 2022 information session on Thursday.

The event will be held virtually from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.

IMPACT selects approximately 30 African American professionals each year who are between the ages of 30 and 45 and have at least a bachelor's degree and seven years of professional experience.

IMPACT chooses candidates it believes have a proven track record of civic leadership and its selection is competitive, requiring letters of recommendation and a formal interview. The nine-month program is also partnered with the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

The program includes monthly modules, supplementary events and activities during the month and a speaker series.

The 2022 information session will allow those interested in applying to gain information about the program for next year's class.

The program was created because there are limited opportunities for up-and-coming African American professionals to learn how to be successful leaders.

Applications must be submitted by April 30 for the 2022 class.
